Weave Maintenance

Some women may have this problem with their Weave. When you first get a sewn in straight weave ,  it looks very good. But, after you shampoo it, you flat iron it and for some reason it doesn't look the same. As the day goes on, it may look tattered and bunched up on your neck and you can no longer run your fingers through it.

One suggestion to solve this problem is to shampoo your hair with professional shampoo, towel dry it thoroughly, then put quarter size amount of our Mizani "Rose H2O"  Moisturizers on it.

I recommend  our Mizani Rose H2O it is very light.  Afterward, while its still damp, you can blow it dry.  After its dry, put a dime size amount  on the hair.  Then flat iron it.  For added shine spray on Mizani "Shyne".

If you do everything correctly, your weave will be just like it was when you first got it done.

When it's time to remove your weave, seek out a professional to prevent damage to your natural hair. Also, visit your stylist to get the weave tightened and to ensure your hair is growing properly.

If you live in the Washington Metro Area -Maryland and want your hair sewn in (for a sew in, your hair has to be minimum of 1 inch long) or want weave maintenance you can make an appointment above.

Netting

If you want flowing locks like Trina and Kelly Price, ask your stylist about netting. This technique involves braiding natural tresses under a thin, breathable net that serves as a flat surface onto which stylists can weave extensions. Netting provides more flexibility than track placement because the stylist is not limited to sewing extensions to a braid. This style can last for up to three months if properly maintained. To care for your hair, wash it once a week and invest in a hooded hair dryer or heated cap for at-home maintenance. "You want to make sure your hair is completely dry so it will not mildew under the net," advises Gray.
Prices range from $250 to $350.

Tracking

If you want a show-stopping new look, like City High's Claudette Ortiz, check out the track method. First, natural tresses are braided around the head in concentric circles. The braids are sewn down, then extensions are sewn to the braids. Eight to fifteen tracks are needed for a full head. The recommendation is to replacing this weave every two months or every time you get a relaxer, since it will loosen up as your hair grows out. Care for this style as you would your natural hair, washing at least once a week. Prices range from about $25 to $45 per track.
